The Divine Revelation: Holy Book Al-Quran

Introduction

The Noble Al-Quran stands as the final divine testament, an oration from Allah, extending its wisdom and guidance to every facet of humanity's existence. It was revealed through the Prophet Muhammad ï·º, PBUH, with the original Arabic text safeguarded and preserved by the Divine Will of Allah.  As articulated in the Quran (15:9): (All quotes from Al-Quran are interpreted in English and always produced in Italic fonts in our writeups)

It is certainly We Who have revealed the Reminder, and it is certainly We Who will preserve it. 15:9

The Quran, when recited, wields the power to profoundly impact all of humanity, especially those who hold belief in and reverence for God. This profound guidance is bestowed only upon those whom Allah deems worthy.

˹He is˺ Allah ˹Who˺ has sent down the best message—a Book of perfect consistency and repeated lessons—which causes the skin ˹and hearts˺ of those who fear their Lord to tremble, then their skin and hearts soften at the mention of ˹the mercy of˺ Allah. That is the guidance of Allah, through which He guides whoever He wills. But whoever Allah leaves to stray will be left with no guide. (30:23)

Prior to the revelation of the glorious Quran to the Prophet Muhammad ï·º, PBUH, no authenticated and original version of any Holy Book from previous religions existed on Earth. The world was shrouded in darkness, devoid of the illuminating light of authenticated Divine Knowledge. Scholars of various major world religions unanimously acknowledge this reality - the absence of their own original divine scriptures. Though Allah entrusted the Jews and Christians with the safekeeping of their Holy Books (as mentioned in Quran 5:44), the custodians of these scriptures didn’t perform their duty to protect them, leading to their loss through corruption, interpolation, distortions, and alterations.

Indeed, We revealed the Torah, containing guidance and light, by which the prophets, who submitted themselves to Allah, made judgments for Jews. So too did the rabbis and scholars judge according to Allah’s Book, with which they were entrusted and of which they were made keepers. So do not fear the people; fear Me! Nor trade my revelations for a fleeting gain. And those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are ˹truly˺ the disbelievers (5:44)

Allah, it seems, had no inclination to preserve these books by Himself, as those books were specific to their respective times and early generations of people with limited intellectual development. However, He gave His solemn assurance to safeguard the original Arabic Text of the Holy Quran, for it is the last and final divine message to all of humanity (and Jinns) until the end of days.

It is certainly We Who have revealed the Reminder, and it is certainly We Who will preserve it. 15:9

When Allah Himself assures us of the Quran's protection, it becomes abundantly clear that not a single alteration, no matter how minuscule, could ever occur. Over fourteen centuries have elapsed since the blessed era of the Holy Prophet ï·º, and not once has there been a lapse or neglect on the part of Muslims in matters pertaining to their faith. The unbroken tradition of memorizing the Holy Quran endures across the globe, with millions of Muslims - old and young, male and female - serving as living vessels in whose hearts and minds the Quran resides, safeguarded. Even the most erudite scholars of religion from bygone eras would not dare mispronounce a single letter of the Quran, for there would always be vigilant individuals, be they elders or children, poised to correct any deviation.

The Opening Chapter of Al-Quran: Surah Al-Fatihah

This Chapter 1 of Quran contains 7 verses and is called ‘Al-Fatihah’, that is, the Opener of the Book, the Surah with which prayers are begun. It is also called, ‘Umm Al-Kitab’ (the Mother of the Book). This is the Mother of the Quran, and the seven repeated verses of the Glorious Quran in the Prayers. It is also called Al-Hamd (praise and thanks) and As-Salah (The Prayer) , Ash-Shifa' (the Cure) and Ar-Ruqyah (remedy). Complete Chapter 1:

In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

All praise (and thanks) is for Allah—Lord of all worlds, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgment. You ˹alone˺ we worship and You ˹alone˺ we ask for help. Guide us along the Straight Path, the Path of those You have blessed—not those You are displeased with, or those who are astray.

The Prophet ï·º said that his Lord said: “The prayer (i.e., Al-Fatihah) is divided into two halves between Me and My servants. "A half of it is for Me and a half for My servant, and My servant shall acquire what he asked for."

The Last Divine Book in Original Form

Allah's Final Revelation to Humanity

Allah, in His infinite wisdom, revealed His ultimate and final Holy Book, the Quran (al-Quran), to the Prophet Muhammad ï·º, PBUH, through the Mighty Angel Gabriel (AS) over a span of 22 years. Comprising 114 chapters (Surah) containing over 6200 verses (Ayaat), each verse is a self-contained unit of divine wisdom. The companions of the Prophet Muhammad ï·º, PBUH, diligently transcribed the verses as they were revealed, and a significant number also committed them to memory in short order.

The Quran unfolds its profundities when viewed as Allah's last and ultimate Divine Discourse, addressing both Humankind and Jinnkind, bestowed upon us through the illustrious Prophet Muhammad ï·º, PBUH. It affirms the earlier divine revelations to His Mighty Prophets, including Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Jesus, and Muhammad ï·º. Peace and Mercy Be Upon Them All. The Torah, Psalms (Zuboor), and Gospel (Injeel), sacred scriptures of Abrahamic faiths, are referenced many times in the Quran. These three were revealed to prophets chosen among the Children of Israel between 1500 B.C.E. and 33 C.E. However, none of these three books remain in their original form, but their various versions are included in the Old and New Testaments.

Universal Brotherhood - Humanity as One Family

Allah, the Creator of the Universe and Human Beings, extends His address to the entire Human Race, imparting the foundational concept of Universal Brotherhood and our collective identity as one human family, as articulated in the Quran:

O humanity! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another. Surely the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you. Allah is truly All-Knowing, All-Aware. 49:13

Allah unequivocally affirms that all humans are progeny of Adam and Eve (Hawwa), Peace Be Upon Them, thus establishing the all-encompassing principle of human equality. Consequently, there is no superiority based on nationality, race, caste, color, or creed. Racial pride or national hubris finds no place. The categorization of humans into tribes, sub-tribes, nations, and races serves only for mutual recognition. A person's stature is determined by the loftiness of their moral character and their fulfillment of duties towards Allah and fellow humans and other creations of Allah.

The Prophet Muhammad ï·º, is reported in a hadith collected by Imam Ahmed (RA) to have proclaimed, "O humanity! Your Lord is one, and your ancestry is one. No Arab is superior to a non-Arab, nor is any non-Arab superior to any Arab. No white is superior to any black, nor is any black superior to any white except on account of their righteousness."

Allah has fashioned humans with diverse shades of skin, colors, and hues - be it black, white, brown, or yellow - and an extensive array of languages.

And one of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the diversity of your languages and colors. Surely in this are signs for those of ˹sound˺ knowledge. 30:22

This verse attests to the Divine Omnipotence and Artistry in creating myriad elements, including the skies, earth, linguistic diversity, and the kaleidoscope of human hues. Each stands as a testament to Divine Wisdom, discernible to those who ponder.

The Quran's Self-Description

The Quran: Divine Words in Perfection

The best introduction and description of the Quran is found in the verses themselves, as spoken by the One who revealed it. We have selected verses from various chapters of the Quran to illuminate Allah's portrayal of His Divine Revelation. The Quran is hailed as the finest light - the Oration of Allah - enshrined in the Preserved Tablet, guarded in heaven by the purest of angels. Refer to the Six Verses Nos 75 to 80 of Chapter 56:

So I do swear by the positions of the stars—and this, if only you knew, is indeed a great oath—that this is truly a noble Quran, in a well-preserved Record, touched by none except the purified ˹angels˺. ˹It is˺ a revelation from the Lord of all worlds. 56:75; 56:76; 56:77; 56:78; 56:79; 56:80

Allah chose to reveal the Quran in Arabic, a language of profound eloquence that has remained a vibrant native tongue for hundreds of millions of humans continuously for thousands of years - an enduring legacy unlike Hebrew and Aramaic. The purpose behind this linguistic choice was to ensure its accessibility and understanding for humanity at all times, and particularly for the native Arabs of 1400 years ago at the time of revelation.

‘This is’ a revelation from the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful. 41:2

˹It is˺ a Book whose verses are perfectly explained—a Quran in Arabic for people who know, delivering good news and warning. Yet most of them turn away, so they do not hear. 41:3; 41:4

Alif-Lãm-Ra. These are the verses of the clear Book. Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. (The address here is to the Arabs and, by extension, all of humanity.) 12:1; 12:2

Certainly, We have made it a Quran in Arabic so perhaps you will understand. And indeed, it is—in the Master Record with Us—highly esteemed, rich in wisdom. 43:3; 43:4

˹It is˺ a Quran ˹revealed˺ in Arabic without any crookedness, so perhaps they will be conscious ˹of Allah˺. 39:28

All praise is for Allah Who has revealed the Book to His servant (Muhammad ï·º) allowing no crookedness in it. 18:1

Alif-Lãm-Ra. ˹This is˺ a Book whose verses are well-perfected and then fully explained. ˹It is˺ from the One ˹Who is˺ All-Wise, All-Aware. 11:1

These verses affirm that the Quran's wording is impeccable, its meaning comprehensive, striking a balance so precise that it leaves no room for error or ambiguity. It is a book whose verses are perfectly aligned with the concerns and thoughts of humanity across ages, enduring until the end of time. The Quran stands firm, unaltered, in contrast to previous scriptures that underwent abrogation. The entirety of the Quran, its wisdom, its guidance, was embedded in the Preserved Tablet, revealed incrementally to facilitate ease of preservation and practical implementation.

Concerning the statement of Allah, (from One (Sacred Being), Who is All-Wise, Well-Acquainted.), it underscores that the Quran emanates from Allah, the Most Wise in His statements and Laws, fully cognizant of the ultimate outcomes. Every utterance from Him is steeped in profound wisdom, far beyond human comprehension. His awareness spans every particle, existing now and in the future, in this intricate universe. In contrast, human knowledge, no matter how astute, remains confined by limited perspectives. Their experiences are molded by immediate surroundings, often leading to misconceptions, especially when predicting future outcomes under varied circumstances. Interestingly, these observations align with what is now recognized as the intellectual field of Futurology, with its scholars and enthusiasts worldwide.

The Glorious Quran in the Master Record - Preserved Tablet

The Quran, in its essence, is a magnificent scripture, inscribed in the Preserved Tablet.

In fact, this is a glorious Quran, ‘recorded’ in a Preserved Tablet. 85:21; 85:22

This celestial origin is marked by its inscription in heaven - the Preserved Tablet, Al-Lawh Al-Mahfuz, where Allah has inscribed the destiny of His entire creation. This 'Master Record' serves as the blueprint, akin to the 'Master Plan' mentioned in our previous sections.

In Chapter 80, verses 13 to 16, the Quran extols that the original Quran is inscribed on these Pages within the Master Record alludes to the Preserved Tablet, revered by the hands of the exalted angels:

It is ‘written’ on pages held in honor—highly esteemed, purified—by the hands of angel-scribes, honorable and virtuous. 80:13; 80:14; 80:15; 80:16

From these verses and the preceding explanation, we grasp that the Arabic Quran transcends being just a book. It distinguishes itself from all other earthly texts, for the authentic Book of Allah (Al-Quran) is meticulously preserved in a specific form within the Master Record in heaven, composed in the Divine Language of Allah, safeguarded by Mighty Angels. The Quran that we possess in the world today can be considered as the Certified True Arabic Copy/Version revealed by Allah, inscribed on paper and committed to memory by millions of humans.

The Quran's Impact: A Mountain's Testimony

Allah presents a striking analogy in the Quran, illustrating the profound impact it would have had on a mountain:

Had We sent down this Quran upon a mountain, you would have certainly seen it humbled and torn apart in awe of Allah. We set forth such comparisons for people, ˹so˺ perhaps they may reflect. (Meaning, that the hearts of the disbelievers are harder than the mountains concerning the Quran) 59:21

As previously mentioned, we recall the event when the Prophet Moses (PBUH) at Mount Tur (Tor) sought to behold God. Allah instructed him that he could not see Him directly, but instead asked him to look at the mountain. The mountain was rent asunder, leaving Prophet Moses (PBUH) unconscious. This mirrors the potential impact the Quran would have had on a mountain. It emphasizes that the hearts of disbelievers are harder than mountains when it comes to the Quran.

This verse underscores that the Quran is neither a part of Allah nor separate from Him. It resonates with the primordial Divine Command 'Be' that emanated from Allah in the form of the most ethereal light, much akin to the Quran in its oral form. This verse serves as a paramount declaration, glorifying the Quran as one of the Attributes of the Almighty Allah, not as His creation or production.

The Divine Descriptions of the Quran's Revelation

The Quran, the 'Words of Allah,' was conveyed through the distinguished messenger-angel Gabriel (AS). When it was recited by the Prophet Muhammad ï·º, it became the 'Words of Muhammad ï·º' to those who listened, recorded, and preserved it. This original Quran remains unchanged and uncorrupted, standing as an eternal testament. These attributes are affirmed in the following verses:

Indeed, this ˹Quran˺ is the Word of ˹Allah delivered by Gabriel,˺ a noble messenger-angel, full of power, held in honor by the Lord of the Throne, obeyed there ˹in heaven˺, and trustworthy.  81:19; 81:20; 81:21

These verses delineate the Quran as undeniably the word conveyed by the noble messenger Gabriel (AS), a being of immense power and esteemed stature in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. The oath affirms that the Quran emanates from this noble messenger, attributing three significant qualities to him. Firstly, his possession of power; secondly, his elevated rank and profound obedience in the celestial realm; and thirdly, his trustworthiness, ensuring the message is conveyed without any breach of trust or alteration.

The Quran (addressing to unbelievers) is also hailed as the 'Recitation of the Noble Messenger Muhammad ï·º' in the following verses:

Indeed, this ˹Quran˺ is the recitation of a noble Messenger (Muhammad ï·º). It is not the prose of a poet ˹as you claim˺, ˹yet˺ you hardly have any faith. Nor is it the mumbling of a fortune-teller, ˹yet˺ you are hardly mindful. ˹It is˺ a revelation from the Lord of all worlds.  69:40; 69:41; 69:42; 69:43

These verses were revealed in response to the initial doubts of the unbelievers regarding the source of the Quranic revelation. Another chapter addresses those who marveled at how the Prophet Muhammad ï·º, an unlettered man, could recite such profound literary verses. The unbelievers would make baseless accusations and speculative assumptions about the origin of certain verses. These doubts were addressed by these verses:

And your fellow man (i.e., Muhammad ï·º) is not insane. And he did see that ˹angel˺ on the clear horizon, (This is first time the Prophet ï·º saw Gabriel in his angelic form. He saw him a second time in heaven during the Night Journey.) and he does not withhold ˹what is revealed to him of˺ the unseen. And this ˹Quran˺ is not the word of an outcast devil.  81:22; 81:23; 81:24; 81:25

These references provide insight into how Allah SWT Himself introduces His Book, the Quran, revealed through the intermediary of the Messenger-Angel Gabriel (AS) to the Messenger-Man, Muhammad ï·º (PBUH).

Al-Quran - The Miracle of Miracles

A miracle, by definition, transcends the boundaries of normal physical laws. For instance, when the Mighty Prophet Moses (PBUH) parted the sea by striking his staff, it defied the conventional laws governing water's behavior, creating a miraculous dry path that allowed the Hebrews to cross the Red Sea. Miracles of this nature were often presented by messengers as a final testament and warning to their people - a choice between embracing the divine message or facing complete annihilation.

While there exist numerous miracles by the grace of Allah SWT during the respective lifetimes of Prophet Muhammad ï·º and other preceding prophets PBUT, like giving life to the dead by Jesus (PBUH), they were specific to those times and audiences, inaccessible to humanity in the present or future.

In the divine narrative, the Messengers preceding the last and final one, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), were each sent with a specific message tailored for a particular group and a limited period. Their miracles, like the parting of seas and the revival of the dead, were intended to resonate with the people of their era, serving as signs of their divine mission. However, in the present, we find ourselves unable to revisit those moments in time to witness these miracles firsthand.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), distinct from his predecessors, was not dispatched solely for the benefit of Muslims or Arabs. The Glorious Quran, in Chapter 21, Verse 107, proclaims:

"We have sent thee not but as a mercy to all the creatures (as a mercy to the whole of humanity) and the mercy to all the worlds." 21:107

Being the last messenger, the miracle bestowed upon him transcends the constraints of time. It should not only have resonated with the people of his era but also remain relevant and examinable for all time, for he was the final envoy. While Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed numerous miracles, he did not lay undue emphasis on them. Muslims, in particular, take pride in his ultimate miracle - the Glorious Quran. This divine revelation, the last and final from Almighty God to His last and final messenger, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), stands as a miracle for all epochs. It had the power to convince and resonate with the people of its time and continues to do so to this day, with the promise of enduring examination and verification until the end of days. This, indeed, is the Miracle of Miracles.

Open Challenge of Al-Quran till Doomsday

Let's focus on the profound challenge of Quran set forth by Allah SWT through the Prophet Muhammad ï·º - a challenge that has remained open for the past 1400 years, and will persist into the foreseeable future. This remarkable miracle is the Glorious Quran, a repository of boundless knowledge and wisdom, bestowed upon a Prophet (AS) who was unlettered, never sat in a classroom, and did not acquire the skills of reading and writing (Ummi).

The challenge laid down by Allah is clear - none can produce a chapter comparable to any of the 114 chapters (Surah) of the Quran. Each chapter in Quran are consisting of various numbers of verses (Ayaat) from hundreds of verses to minimum of three verses. The first chapter Al-Fatihah (The Opener) contains 7 verses and the second chapter Al-Baqarah (The Cow) contains 286 verses.

Three chapters (103, 108 and 110) contain only 3 verses each. So why have a collective of unbelievers, humans, and jinn not come together over the past 1400 years to compose a chapter of just three verses that meets the standards of Quranic chapters? They have not done so, and no one dares to confront this challenge of Allah SWT, now or in the future. The Quran stands as an eternal miracle, with far-reaching applications in the 'World of Material,' bound by time and space, and in the 'World of Order,' transcending constraints of space and time.

Discover the challenge of Allah SWT in the following verses 23 and 24 of Chapter 2 of the Quran:

And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed to Our servant (Muhammad ï·º), then produce a sûrah like it and call your helpers other than Allah, if what you say is true. But if you are unable to do so—and you will never be able to do so—then fear the Fire fuelled with people and stones, which is prepared for the disbelievers. 2:23; 2:24

Quranic Insights: Scientific References in the Quran

The Quran is not a book of Science; rather, it is a book of Signs (Ayaat, Verses). Nevertheless, within the over 6000 verses in the Quran, there are over 1000 that provide clear insights into various fields of modern science, and these facts have been available for over 1400 years. We'll focus on established Scientific Facts, excluding Scientific Hypotheses and Theories, which may be subject to revision as is common in many cases.

The Quran encompasses numerous facts that correspond to various branches of modern science such as Astrology, Astronomy, Cosmology, Biology, Zoology, Botany, Physiology, Embryology, Physics, Geology, Solar System, Hydrology, Oceanography, and rain cycles, among others. The Quran, through its verses, offers profound insights that resonate with modern scientific knowledge, affirming the wisdom and knowledge of the Creator 1400 years ago.

Consider verse 30 from chapter 21 which touches on two recently discovered scientific facts: the Big Bang and Life originating from Water. This verse appears to be a question directed at modern scientists, asking why they would disbelieve in God after realizing these two facts mentioned in the one verse of the Quran?

The Big Bang And Life originating from Water

Do the disbelievers not realize that the heavens and earth were ˹once˺ one mass (sewn together) then We split (ripped) them apart (Big Bang)? And We created from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? 21:30

There are many more verses relating to different scientific facts, though we've only mentioned some branches of modern science. Refer to the following relevant verses:

The Expanding Universe

We built the universe with ˹great˺ might, and We are certainly expanding ˹it˺. 51:47

This statement appears to refer to a characteristic of the universe that has only recently been discovered by scientists - the continuous expansion of the universe on all sides after the Big Bang. This expansion serves as evidence that a Creator initiated it, as it initially existed in a contracted state. This expansion indicates that an external force was needed to set it in motion.

Water Cycle

Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky—channeling it through streams in the earth—then produces with it crops of various colors, then they dry up and you see them wither, and then He reduces them to chaff? Surely in this is a reminder for people of reason. 39:21

Biology

And We created pairs of all things so perhaps you would be mindful. 51:49

This system, highlighting the prevalence of duality in our world, reflects a higher purpose in creation. It indicates that the possibility of the Hereafter exists as a complementary pair with our current world.

Glory be to the One Who created all ˹things in˺ pairs—˹be it˺ what the earth produces, their genders, or what they do not know! 36:36

Pairs signify two things of the same kind or a complement to another. This term covers various categories and kinds within nature and creation.

Zoology

All living beings roaming the earth and winged birds soaring in the sky are communities like yourselves. We have left nothing out of the Record. Then to their Lord they will be gathered all together. 6:38

All living beings on the earth, including winged birds in the sky, form communities much like human societies. Allah has not left anything out of the Record, referring to the Preserved Tablet where the destiny of all creation is inscribed. Ultimately, all beings will be gathered before their Lord.

Botany

Allah has laid out the earth for all beings, providing pathways and causing various types of plants to grow through the rain sent down from the sky.

˹He is the One˺ Who has laid out the earth for ˹all of˺ you, and set in it pathways for you, and sends down rain from the sky, causing various types of plants to grow. 20:53

Lifestyle of Bee & Benefits of Honey

Allah inspired the bees to make their homes in mountains, trees, and human structures. They feed on the nectar of various fruits and produce a liquid of varying colors, which contains healing properties for humans. This serves as a sign for those who reflect.

And your Lord inspired the bees: “Make ˹your˺ homes in the mountains, the trees, and in what people construct, and feed from ˹the flower of˺ any fruit ˹you please˺ and follow the ways your Lord has made easy for you.” From their bellies comes forth liquid of varying colors, in which there is healing for people. Surely in this is a sign for those who reflect. 16:68; 16:69

Lifestyle of Spider

The verse illustrates the fragility of the shelters constructed by those who take protectors other than Allah. The analogy is drawn with a spider's web, which is exceedingly delicate and insufficient for true protection.

The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of a spider spinning a shelter. And the flimsiest of all shelters is certainly that of a spider, if only they knew. 29:41

Lifestyle and Communication of Ants

Solomon's (AS) forces, consisting of jinn, humans, and birds, were meticulously organized. When they encountered a valley of ants, an ant warned its community to seek refuge in their homes to avoid being unknowingly crushed by Solomon (AS) and his armies.

Solomon’s forces of jinn, humans, and birds were rallied for him, perfectly organized. And when they came across a valley of ants, an ant warned, “O ants! Go quickly into your homes so Solomon and his armies do not crush you, unknowingly.”  27:17; 27:18

Physiology

The verse explains that humans are provided with pure and pleasant milk from the bellies of cattle, which results from the process between digested food and blood.

And there is certainly a lesson for you in cattle: We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, from between digested food and blood: pure milk, pleasant to drink (pleasant for those who drink). 16:66

Embryology

The process of human development from a drop of fluid to a fully formed being is outlined in these verses, emphasizing the stages of development in the womb.

And indeed, We created humankind1 from an extract of clay, then placed each ˹human˺ as a sperm-drop (the union of male and female gametes (sperm and egg) which results in the zygote after fertilization.) in a secure place, then We developed the drop into a clinging clot ˹of blood˺, then developed the clot into a lump ˹of flesh˺, then developed the lump into bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, then We brought it into being as a new creation (This happens when the soul is breathed into the embryo). So Blessed is Allah, the Best of Creators. 23:12; 23:13; 23:14

O humanity! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection, then ˹know that˺ We did create you (your father, Adam) from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then ˹developed you into˺ a clinging clot ˹of blood˺ (the embryo resembles a leech), then a lump of flesh (it resembles a chewed morsel)—fully formed or unformed (fully formed or defected, evolving into a healthy embryo or ending in miscarriage)—in order to demonstrate ˹Our power˺ to you. ˹Then˺ We settle whatever ˹embryo˺ We will in the womb for an appointed term, then bring you forth as infants, so that you may reach your prime. Some of you ˹may˺ die ˹young˺, while others are left to reach the most feeble stage of life so that they may know nothing after having known much. And you see the earth lifeless, but as soon as We send down rain upon it, it begins to stir ˹to life˺ and swell, producing every type of pleasant plant. 22:5
